1) I got 6 chickens for the first time a year ago. 5 of them were girls and the last was a male. Since we live within town limits, we had to give our rooster to a safe and happy home where he could live out his life.
2) We just got more chickens from tractor supply. So I currently have 9.
3) Our 5 yearlings are Rhode Island Reds. The four new babies are 2 white silkie bantams and 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes.
4) My favorite aspect of raising chickens is being able to see them grow and watch how their eggs change in size, color, patterning, etc... as time continued.
5) I play a lot of instruments and ride/train horses.
6) I live with my mom, step-dad, little brother, part-time step-sister, and cousin we're getting custody of. I have a golden retriever and 2 bettas. As well as, 3 new baby ducklings that we got at the same time as the 4 new baby chickens.
7) I found BYC while looking for some answers to my chicken questions. I've known about BYC for a little over a year now. I'm finally joining to be able to share my own knowledge and ask my own specific questions.

Hello and welcome to BYC. I hope that you enjoy your time here.

This is a useful link of “How to” BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3. I’d suggest including your location using the guide in the link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes
