(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've had chickens for around 15 years or so.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 7 chickens

(3) What breeds do you have?
At the moment isa browns, at least that's what I think they are. I'd like to get a couple of australorps as well.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love healthy fresh eggs and seeing them run up to me lie a flock of mini T rex's is cute.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy bush walking, gardening SCUBA diving, meditation and Yoga.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I work as a self employed trainer, coach and therapist at Australian institute of Self Development.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I googled an answer to a problem I had some years ago. I think about foxes. Over the years I have probably lost over 50 chooks to foxes and a couple to neighbors cats. Though I was able to get rid of 6 foxes, mainly with traps and snares. Having an automatic door has been helpful, but each automatic chicken door I have had has at some time failed causing the loss of my flock to foxes.

Hi, it's nice to have you here!

Sorry for the losses, that's never easy. Have you tried containing the flock to a large, well fortified covered run? That or maybe some electrified fencing could help with deterring the predators.

Best of luck to you, thanks for joining us!
