Welcome to Backyard Chickens. So glad you have Javas. At the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, they constantly have Java eggs/hatching chicks.

A Java breeder has been kind enough to supply eggs for years. After they hatch he takes them home and replaces with new eggs. At times there has been different colored varieties. It's always my first stop when I visit the museum.

PS The museum hatcher/brooder is state of the art. Chicken folks would LOVE to have it.

Hello, and welcome! It’s a pleasure to have you here! How many hives do you keep?
You know, goats are great at clearing brush, and the milk is handy too.

Have 1 hive right now. Will probably expand next year after the chickens are going. May end up with goats or sheep at some point.
