Hello Backyard Chicken tenders! (Or should I say tenders of Backyard chickens)
I am new to the group. I live in the Austin area and I've had backyard chickens for about 3 years now. I raised the first batch of 5 from baby chicks. They became very accustomed to me being around and were completely comfortable with people, running up to the gate when we went in the pen. We eventually lost all but 1 of the originals to predators and a dog, despite having them in an enclosed pen. I recently replaced the missing ones, but purchased hens ready to lay rather than baby chicks. Someone once told me "Don't name them and don't count them", but I did anyway.
