Introduction!

It’s a challenge, I’m just lucky his mom is overjoyed I can understand her now instead of being upset I can’t speak 😂 she has chickens too and loves them to death!
I worked in a Vietnamese nail salon a while back and brought Sofia in, she loved how they spoke. It’s intriguing to watch her listen and try to figure out what they are saying. She will run up to animals and say their name, and then what they are on both English and Spanish, she just started it about 2 weeks ago her favorite is “it’s a duck, patito, QUACK!!” She gives them all hugs and kisses when they let her. Im so grateful she isn't scared of animals
Hahaha that's so cute!! How did you get started? Was there a program you used or just taught by family?

My husband pushed on me learning Spanish when we met, once I found out I was pregnant I really started to attempt to learn more for our little one.
I actually tried beginner college courses 3 times, they were so backwards and confusing my husband couldn’t even get ahold what they were teaching, Too confusing. Then I tried the app “duo lingo” it’s very helpful but I got bored within a week, I am not much for the phone especially since I have so much to do during the day. Now I listen to podcasts while I feed the critters outside for about 2-3 hours while baby and husband are still asleep. There is one in particular, I’ll have to search for the name of it but it teaches based off of story lines. I found it extremely helpful because I could think back to a story to figure out how, where and when a word is used. The rest is just exposure, the more I listened to people communicate with each other the more I understand.

Portuguese is similar to Spanish isn’t it? My husband can actually understand a lot of it, along with French, Italian and a couple of others. all of the languages trace back to Latin. I personally find the cultures the most intriguing, I think it’s more important than the language in some instances

I think Spanish and Portuguese is similar but from Spain, not Mexico. I agree though, they're all very beautiful cultures... I think they are called romance languages but I forgot.
I tried using the app Memrise, which I found easy and fun but I get so distracted in my every day life that I thrive better in person learning.

Incredible, and such a match to what I do. To sharpen my linguistic skills, I speak to my chickens in the seven languages! (Talk about confused chickens!) Then the treats come, and all confusion just gets pecked away! :D
That’s amazing! Have you noticed any of them preferring certain languages? I haven’t been able to tell on my chickens or ducks but when I am training horses I have found that some prefer different languages! My horse, Cash, absolutely hates Spanish but a mule, Algo that I was training adores it!

I’ve heard them called Romance languages as well, I believe the dialect in Honduras is more similar to Spain as well. I get distracted a lot too 😂
