(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have wanted chickens for years. With our new found time at home we decided this was the year and became first time chicken owners in May.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 8 lovely ladies...well maybe 7 lovely ladies and a handsome boy.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff Orpington
Sapphire Gem
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte’s which look just like Red Wyandotte’s. Very little blue on them.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Pure joy and entertainment factor at watching and caring for chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, cooking, fishing, hiking, camping, skiing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Have a great husband and son! One 17 year old Maine Coon Cat and two 3 year old tabbies from the shelter, plus a passel of feral cats I’ve been trying to trap on my property since March.
