My family and I thank you for including us in you forums. I find I often have questions as a newbie and am grateful for all the info I gather here.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We are new, and began our flock (if you can call it that) in March '20 during the start of Covid-19 shut down.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently we have 4.
(3) What breeds do you have? I believe we have 1 Americauna (whitish), 2 Olive Eggers (perhaps Australorp) and 1 Plymouth Rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? All the differing personalities the display as well as the wonderful learning experience they provide my 6yr old.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Hiking, writing, gardening, reading, and making potions with my 6yr old. She's a huge Harry Potter fan!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a 6yr old, a husband who is a lic. arborist now working a a sawyer with his own mill in Oakland, CA and I am am an esthetician employed PT at a MedSpa.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
. I discovered BYC by doing a Google search about types of chickens, and what foods they can and cannot eat. I decided to join after reading so many great ideas here that I knew if was a fountain of wealth to have access to such knowledge.
