Hello! 
My name is Nicki. For a several years I have felt that I should be more self sufficient by getting chickens, but was terrified to do so. I had a terrible experience raising chickens as child, and wanted nothing to do with them! Haha! But a year and a half ago I finally gave in and started a flock. To my surprise, I have loved it!! I am new to the world of empty nesters, and not really loving that fact! I love being a mom and having a houseful!! My chickens have actually become a bit of a hobby that is helping me adjust! I did not expect to love my chickens, and certainly did not expect that they would love me!! They are so sweet and friendly! 
I have 8 Orpington Buff Hens, 1 Rooster-probably a Barred Rock, 2 Sapphire Jewel hens, 2 Rhode Island Red hens, 4 Ameraucauna hens, and two chicks from my mama Orpington and the rooster- 1 little hen and 1 little rooster! 19 chickens in all.
