Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I wanted to join this group and learn about raising backyard chickens BEFORE I got some. I am technically not new to chickens (I worked in a vet hospital for 14 years, but I am completely new to OWNING and RAISING them!
I don't currently own any so I can't answer questions 2 - 4.
I love to ride my bike outdoors and spend time with my husband. I also roast my own coffee and make homemade bread, lemon curd, limoncello, and lemon jam. If you couldn't tell, I have a LOT OF LEMONS lol!
In terms of my family, it's just me and my husband Nick, my cat Achillies, my dog Sheldon, and my Leopard Gecko (who is roughly 13 years old). I recently started my own business (Cooperative Care Training and Behavior Service). I worked in the veterinary field for 14 years and am a certified professional dog trainer with 7 years under my belt being officially certified.
I got the information for backyardchickens.com from Concord feed, I only recently heard about BYC and I joined so I can learn about owning and raising chickens for eggs and for fun (chickens are so spunky!)
