My name is Renee and I live in Richmond, Indiana. I just started raising chickens last fall. I have three barred rock hens, one buff orphington hen, and one buff orphington rooster. I am currently incubating eggs around 30 and my buff orphington hen is broody and sitting on about 12. I have never incubated eggs before so I am very nervous. I like raising chickens becuase it teaches my children to be responsible and I like getting eggs. I have two daughters and a son. My daughters were excited about the chickens because they wanted to raise them as pets. They are a little disappointed because none of the chickens will let them hold them now. They are excited about having baby chicks because then they can hand raise them. I joined the community to make sure that I am raising my chickens correctly.
