and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

Welcome to BYC!!Hi, I am Tammi. I had chickens growing up but never thought twice about them. BUT now, I am chicken obsessed. My flock gives me so much happiness. I currently have 2 hens, an Isa Brown and Brahma, 5 Ameraucana pullets and a Leghorn (8 weeks old), 8 barnyard mixes (Brahama & Wyndotte mixes) that I hatched (5 weeks old) and 3 Silver Deathlayers hatched today with 2 more pipping (1 Silver & 1 Gold).
I am lucky to work from home and my runs are visible from my office window. I sneak out whenever I can but it's nice to just look out the window and see them.
On a different note, it's crazy but I have not been able to find much info on the Deathlayers after tons of online searches and even with the help of a librarian. I found some book titles but none are available and are all out of print. I am seriously considering trying to write something.
I live in MA with my husband, 2 dogs and our happy flock. I was looking for some hatching info and came across this forum, found some very helpful and informative information and signed up.
I am excited to be a part of this forum!

We are excited to have you join usI am in Lakeville. I've been here a few years and love it. I also have a couple of honeybee hives. I see them out my window too. How do you like SC?Welcome. I moved from Pepperell MA to South Carolina last April.
Thank you! I've been looking around and this is a great place. I'm so glad I found it.This is a wonderful place for chicken-obsessed folks! You'll find support, encouragement and understanding here.
Sounds like you have a lovely flock, and how fortunate to be able to see everyone from your window.
Best wishes with more information on the deathlayers; I'd never heard of them until a couple of years ago and would enjoy learning more. I'd certainly read anything you might decide to write about them.
