Hi, my name is Ginny and I am married with three children.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I think we are reasonably new compared to most. We got our first chickens a few years ago and had a lot of initial ups and downs before we were able to successfully raise a flock. Just this year we added ducks to our flock.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have six chickens and five ducks
(3) What breeds do you have?
Astralorp, Pekin, Mallard
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They have become more pets than chickens. My autistic child, who is terrified of animals, loves to be in the cage with the birds. They are the only animals she likes.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Crocheting, Cooking and Philanthropic work.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with three children, two cats, one dog, a few fish and a bird. We're very much a pet family. I currently work as a school bus driver.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just found it while trying to research an issue on google. I never knew about it before and am looking forwards to having a resource to use.

I had issues too my first year with keeping chickens, BYC is so loaded with info and helpful people, its a "must" when we keep birds!
