Nothing humourous exactly, it's just that chickens are addicting. You start with a flock of 4, soon you want more so you add 8 more... Later that year you now have 40 chickens. So the "chicken math" behind this is, 4+8=40. 😁 (Somehow the original flock of 4 became 40....Chicken Math.)

It also works in reverse when hubby asks, "How many chickens do we have, dear?" We really have 32, but I'll say, "Oh, 20-something, I think." :gig

Accuracy has to happen, though, when he's doing head counts after locking the coops up, so then I get caught. ☺️

But, but...you have silkies and they shouldn't count as full sized chickens!
