(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, we had chickens years ago and started a new flock in 2023
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Approx 17 hens and a rooster
(3) What breeds do you have?
Hens - some RIR, sex links, leghorns. Rooster is an old English bantam. And we have 4 hens about 2 months old that will eventually join the rest of the flock and they will lay the large dark chocolate eggs not sure of the breed name.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? The comedy relief they provide daily and watching our granddaughter interact with them, even in FaceTime she can call the rooster.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Crocheting, sewing, family
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a dog and 4 indoor cats, and so far only one outside cat that was dumped by some jerk(s).
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
just when googling a question I usually got your post first and would get great info from other members so I decided to join the flock
