Introduction

We are VERY new to chickens thanks to my daughter joining JR FFA, we have 11 day old chicks that have been with us for 9 days. We started with 6 chicks but lost 2. The breeds are leghorn, Easter Egger, and I can't remember what they told us the other breed is. While we started this journey due to involvement in FFA, I have quickly become a full blown chicken lady. I joined BYC because I have SO much to learn and I am always looking for advice on different chick related questions. We also have two dogs that are so curious about the little baby chicks.

Welcome to BYC. Be careful for the dogs. I've had some dogs that were a little too curious and thought/ think that chickens are toys. The dogs that I trust are the ones that ignore them completely. Some people have great dogs that are both curious and gentle with them. I hope your's fall in that category!
