Hello!!
I’m a new user to this forum, mainly browsing and sharing forums with advice to my family. We started raising chickens around 3 years ago for eggs! I started off with 8 chicks of various breeds and as time passed, we expanded up to 40 chickens of various ages. I’d estimate there’s around 8 distinct breeds I have, including many mixed chicks as well. My favorite part of raising these birds is watching them roam around the yard and interact with their environment. I am still a student, trying my best to manage both my studies, music extracurriculars, and volunteer work. I know I’m lacking in knowledge, but I aim to become more aware on various aspects of raising poultry. In addition to all my chickens running around, I also keep 2 geese and 6 ducks in their own separate area. Originally, my family had planned on keeping 4 ducks, but we rescued another 2 from a neglectful situation.
I hope to learn from those more experienced than me through this site!
