We have named them Posh, Bucksnort, Scamp and Fishbone. They have definitely warmed up to us over the last few weeks and now they jump in our laps when we sit in the coop. They are awesome!

Hi all-
I am a new chicken owner and I'm excited to learn from you all! Just got four pullets yesterday, pictured with our coop. Today I'm spending lots of time in the coop, with treats, hoping they'll warm up to me. Any suggestions for winning over your chickens welcome!

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people! Your coop looks good. We just go out each day with whatever we have - sometimes it's corn cobs we've eaten the corn off of, sometimes it's garden trimmings, sometimes a flake of alfalfa hay for them to scatter, sometimes it's a small handful of dried mealworms, sometimes it's a bucket of weeds we've dug up. They always come running, knowing that when we approach, GOOD THINGS HAPPEN.
