Invasive Plant--- Not a predator type Pest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote:
The problem is the main trunk from the main plant is about a foot in diameter... and it's roots are heaving in the basement wall and roots have grown through the cinder blocks. I dug, cut hacked and slashed... sealed cracks... 2 weeks later new shoots are pushing up... so I went online to research..

I honestly don't mind using something toxic right next to the house, and may go with JoeB's advice, because side of my house isn't where I am growing my food supply ....

Sounds like it might be the same tree like trunk. I am betting that you will need herbicide of some kind to keep that root from continuing to invade your foundation.

Good luck.

Heres what we do, cut the vine or tree at the base, get some Amine 400 and a paint brush and paint the Amine on the top area you cut, it will be absorbed by the plant and kills root and all.

We have invasive talla trees here you can cut um down, dig um up, burn um and they still come back, so we tried Amine 400 and it killed them completely but did not harm the plants or grasses around them.

I'm glad somebody besides me has to deal with them chinese tallow trees.

Do you know those things were brought into the country in the 1920-30s to start a soap industry.

If you really want it dead use round up (the 41 percent active ingrediant kind) and mix it with Amine 24D it will kill it and it wont be back get the 24d from TSC gotta be agressive with vines...
