Iowa Blues - Breed thread and discussion

Kari, this is a superb cockerel, Congrats! I also have a house full of scraggly four-month olds that I need to show you some day soon. All the best.
He has thrown some lovely babies too, although his sons and daughters will now take over. He has gone to help start a new flock for a 4-H project with the Sandhill cross pullets that won best and reserve.

. As far as the judging goes, I consider it a win if my placing and the judges placing agree. At least I know my "vision" for the SOP lines up with what is written in the Standard.

Wow, look at that boy! Nice Roo mrandmschicken.

I'd say thanks Dan, but he is not my bird, although I raised him for a week or so when he was a chick. That's why he still lets me hold him! I am trying to get him to the September 20th Mason City show, along with one or two of is consorts. Anyone know or sure if they can make the Mason City show? Or at least have a meeting on Saturday afternoon?
If you don't have the show papers, I can send them. They also have a website; http://www.northiowapoultry.com/news/
You can dwnld the show cat there. If we know the Iowa Blues will be meeting, I can ask Bart to add this to the meets roster for the show. We should also have a nice table set up and plenty of folks to work it. Emily, will you be there? I assume all this will be okay with Curt, Kari and Connie? Lora, David and I will be there. David is looking forward to showing his ducks!

Yes, I'm on board with it. Curt is working on an agenda I believe.

Sadly, the girl that owns the big IB boy prefers he stay at home, so I won't be bringing him. :(
She also does not want him to be at the Clay County Fair, like I was hoping, they have generously invited us to do a display in their area similar to a hall of breeds and petting zoo combined. The birds will be out of reach of probing and poking hands and volunteers work this area to make sure they are watered and properly fed.
If any of you plan to attend the CCF, I could bring your birds back to Mason City for the show.
Hannah Dagel, will doing her 4-H presentation on the IB's at the CCF, just as she did at the State Fair, so we will rely on her two birds and some of the starts I got from Kari for a display. I was really hoping to get some good sized birds to the CCF.
