That's a nice trio there! I need to get you a light colored cockerel to increase lacing on the females. I've got some beautiful pullets in the NYD hatch to prove that works! Gotta get pictures......
OK I'm a little disappointed how these pictures turned out, but here are some of my NYD hatch.
From the hatch I have 5 brown pullets, one of which has darker legs and dark eyes.
This girl has light legs, but better size, shape and markings. Also brace enough to jump down and check out the strange surroundings
She is easy to catch though.
I think I finally have a cockerel without autosomal red. He is VERY light though
I also have 4 beautifully laced Birchen pullets, but the pictures turned out terrible.
I didn't end up with any pictures of the birchen cockerels because I didn't find any that were pure for silver. I do have one I may use, I think he's split for silver and at least isn't showing signs for autosomal red.
I did pass on a nice Birchen cockerel to Spartacus though
I've been away for a little while, but I'm back with new pics of my IB cockerel and what I believe is a pullet. Both hatched from MrHeinz's eggs by Anderson.
Cockerel at 4 months - oh and he started crowing today.
And pictures of the suspected pullet. This one's quite a bit lighter - more lacing? - than the other chick was. Is this considered "brown"? Dark eyes and legs. I can't remember the age on this one. I know I have it around here somewhere. Maybe Anderson can remind me. I think this chick was hatched either December or January.
Yes, that pullet is genetically eb "brown". Hopefully she will develop some nice penciling. Cute little girl - nice dark legs for that phenotype. Is your cockerel silver or gold? I'ts hard to tell from a picture. Doesn't look like he's got any autosomal red showing on his wings, so that's a good sign. I like his tail carriage too!
