Ipod touch in the Class room... A new way too look at it

Makes me recall the rules in my day (not THAT long ago) where they assumed any person with a pager in their locker, turned off, during school hours... MUST be a drug dealer... they weren't nice at all... thus a lot of cars were broken into and pagers stolen 'cuz students had no choice but to leave them in the car. Bit much... I think the cops on campus and drug sniffing dogs were sufficient.

Of course you couldn't play Tetris on a pager... that would have gotten me in SO much trouble.

As to tech in classroom... if there's enough that EVERY student has the same opportunity to use it... fine. But if you start gearing assignments to where you HAVE to have one in order to pass, or get an A... that's not cool. Every student should be able to make an A in a class if they put in the same amount of work... dedication... etc. Whether they can afford a special phone (or calculator IMO) should not effect whether they do well in a PUBLIC school class.

Not a teacher, know a few, no longer a student but now a parent of two...that's all I'm basing my opins on.
