Iris is broody again!

Yeah, one had cracked under her last time, I thought that would be an isolated occurence.

Here's a link to my first youtube video starring Iris & Hazel.

I hope it works!

That was great!

My other EE, Hazel, is now full blown broody!

At first she acted like she was just mimicing Iris, but there is no doubt now that she is broody!

Innow know who has been breaking Iris' eggs...

IRIS!

She had several broken under her this morning, and she has been isolated in a dog crate and away from all the other chickens, so it has to be her.

I've put her back in the laying flock pen, I'll try to break her broodiness.

Now I've fired up the bator and have 18 eggs in it, and 7 eggs under broody Hazel.

You know now I am wondering if the reason my broody's little coop smells so bad is not only because of poop but maybe broken eggs. I can't see anything, she has them all buried in the hay. Saturday is supposed to be hatching day, how long after that should you think I should give it if I see no chicks? Till Monday?
