IRREGULAR LAYING

Greetings:
Our chickens discovered that they love June Bugs. Our chickens went to bed at dusk one night and of course, out came the June Bugs. We got the chickens out of bed so they could enjoy catching and eating the bugs and we were so entertained. However, after that night, they stopped laying for a day, and then were inconsistent with laying for 3 days. Do you think this staying up late and eating the bugs disrupted their laying? Thoughts?

My chickens don’t lay persistently. I’m not sure why? It’s very annoying though

How old are your chickens, and what breeds?

I don’t think it would interept with egg laying. They need daylight to lay eggs.
