Hello!

I have a partridge silkie hen with irritated skin around her eyes. It's sort of... rough/crusty, and she scratches at her face a lot. It started yesterday morning. I went to let her outside and noticed that her eyes were barely open. They seemed stuck? She scratched at them a bit and now they're better but still not as wide as they normally are.

She's been broody for the past week or so, but aside from that her behaviour is normal. She still eats and drinks. No discharge from her nose or eyes. Her breathing seems normal as well. She's a bit shaky when I hold her.

I went out to take some pictures and noticed that there are small bugs on her face! One ended up on my phone and I took a photo. Unfortunately I didn't think to put anything beside it for scale but it's roughly the size of a period (just slightly larger). Here: (sorry for the bad quality, it's just so tiny)

And here's my silkie:

Are these red mites? How do I get rid of them?? I have a dusting powder that kills poultry mites that I can apply tomorrow morning. Is there anything else I can do?

My other chickens seem unaffected but if there are already mites in the coop then what can I do to protect them?

Thank you for reading! Any help is very much appreciated!

Where are you located? Can you see the bugs on other parts of the body? I just want to make sure those are not stick tight fleas, but they do look smaller like mites. What is the name of your dusting powder? Does it contain permethrin or pyrethrins? Those are good for mites. Can you look inside your coop for grey specs under your roost or in any crevices? Red mites are treated differently than stick tight fleas. Mites must be treated once every 7 days at least twice to get the mites and the newly hatched mites before they have reproduced. Also the coop must be sprayed with permethrin after removing all bedding, and new bedding added. Here is sticktight fleas:
