When Big Neck was the first to hop on my hand (with hopes of being my first trained wannabe circus chicken?) I had my suspicions. Hopefully I can find the cocky little fella a new home since I’m not allowed roosters where I live. Thank you!
Big Neck most definitely was a cockerel. As were two more of the four straight run Olive Eggers I bought at TSC. One by one they ended up at the local livestock auction. Should have sent the three in bulk when they were little and started sparring (at about 3 weeks) but played it safe and waited until they started crowing at about 8 weeks. Hopefully they now are fattening up for someone’s belly or guarding a flock that’d lost its rooster.
