Is $20 for a Copper Marans pullet to much??

Paid more than that for eggs.

Oh and I got 2 wheatens. Thing is I'm not too upset about that since I wanted some and I think they are pullets, so I'm good.

Hens or pullets around here are about 50 bucks. Some more.

on the side topic of wheatens... if they came from BC stock it's a bad Idea to use them for a breeding program since they have SO much BCM in their background. If you just want them for laying dark eggs for your fridge it's fine though of coarse.
They call the wheaties that come from a BCM line "sports." They were talking about this just recently on the Marans' thread

what are you going to do with them?

congrats! i've paid $10-$15 for all my point of lay birds of various breeds other than FCBMs. just got 5 1 week old FCBMs for $25, and i have to clean their poop, keep them in the house for a few weeks, raise them for months before i see an egg--if they are all hens.

IMHO~

$20 is not too much to pay for any bird that is laying or a point of lay. Think about it we raise them, we feed them ($$$$$$$$$), we clean for them, it's just like having children, but unlike children, with chickens we may get reimbursed.

geeb what color are those on the chart? beautiful!

oh I charge $60 for a Point of laying hen where I live if it is a FBCM or Ameraucana its all in the area and quality of the birds. I think $20 is a great deal. more than $20 went into them raising them to that age for sure.

Chicks can sell here for $25 each and they are not from super dark eggs. One dozen dark FBCM eggs from another breeder can cost you $45 but the hatch rate isn't good or day old chicks for $15 each.
Yet another breeder will be selling full grown hens for $75 each and they are from super dark eggs but not as dark as geebs eggs.

FBCM are a cash cow here, so are BLRW. Unsexed day old BLRW chicks have been selling for $22 each.

Wow you guys need to give your self a pat on the back for such great information!! these birds would mostly just be pets, but now that I know more about them I think I might also get a roo from her and hatch some eggs as well.

here is her website http://backwoodschickens.weebly.com/

I know I will for sure get at least 2 hens from her.
