we've had 7 eggs out of 13 from a local breeder hatch,I was wondering if this was a good hatch considering?

April 17th my MIL and Wife when up to madison to a breeder who had just about everything. and she gave us 18 eggs. 3 didn't develop, 1 chick under a broody hatched with yolk still outside the belly, and died,we've had 7 chicks hatch, the rest were quiters most around 16 or 17 days.

this was the first time we've gotten eggs from anyone else, and I'm wondering if over all thats a good hatch?

especially for a first time, really.

For a first time hatch, even 1 is good. You'll get the addiction soon enough [IMG] I have to schedule incubator time, mine's been running non-stop since janurary.

That's not too bad. If you were hatching under a broody, something may have happened if so many eggs quit around the same time, so late in development. I'd be happy!
