Is a elevated coop better or on the ground?

I have a 4x4 coop 5ft high and use a bare ground floor. I have a door the width of the coop to use a rake to clean it out. I also have yard of about 50 sq ft and access to a area of about 50 sq ft in a are under my shelves in my greenhouse for the winter. All areas are easy to clean, and the bonus is the greenhouse gets them out of the coop in bad weather. 3 - 4 hens is what I have at a time.
