Is a goner or will it live?

My hen left here eggs that should hatch tomorrow, but she left the nest and couldn't get back in because she jumpt over the fence and didn't figure how to get over it again and I checked the egg it was cold! Once I got her in she sat right onit so is the baby still alive or did it die from the cold?

I believe someone said once, they aren't dead until they're warm and dead. I've had chicks that looked dead, but were just fine after warming up. And an egg once that was also cold, but was still alive and hatched out just fine.

You'll just have to wait and see.

Hay I'm back with some news. I just went in the coop and instead of seeing my normal girl in there I saw another hen sitting on the eggs.
Does that mean she is broody, and should I remove her?
