Is a guard goose worth it?

Okay thanks! There's about 100 feet from my coop to my neighbors house. Do geese ever start hooking in the middle of the night?

Is she as loud as a rooster? I keep debating getting one but I dont want my neighbors to complain.

She’s loud, it’s a different sound than crowing, but depending on the weather on that particular day, my neighbour on the next road over, who’s property butts up to the back of mine, can hear her. xD she’s not bad when she’s just chattering away with the ducks, but when she’s putting on a threat display or sounding the alarm, she’s LOUD. No neighbours have complained thus far though.

my 2 female geese have saved themselves and their ducks and chic buddies quite a few times. if they honk in the middle of the night its because a predator is near . i have a rechargeable flood light i keep in the living room and have shot 2 foxes so far trying to get under the fence. they won't physically protect the flock but their alarms at night will.

I understand that some have still lost animals with geese as guards, but once we accumulated ours - we went from an animal a week loss to none in over 6 months now. I’m not saying it won’t happen. But when coyotes start gearing up around here, so do the geese. The Goose Shack is about 400 yards from our bedroom and I’ve heard them honking when coyotes start their barking.
