Is a heat source needed?

I'm afraid I can't help with that, I've been fortunate to never have had such diseases in my flock.

Have you gotten her on a good chicken feed, and no "chicken crack" treats?

She is eating her pellets I mixed with warm water .its the only eat she would take them.
No more corn !! Scratch will no longer be purchased! Thank you for all the advice and information!!! 💗

How old is your girl?? From all the descriptions I would guess she is just slowly on her way out. Does she look old? I've had some die of old age and some were similar to yours. They wouldn't/couldn't get up on the roost at night so I made a space in the corner on the floor. I could see in their eyes that they were aging. They would still go out and eat with the rest of the girls to the day they died but like people who get old, did so more slowly. They stuck closer to or in the barn rather than going out to forage.
Today so lethargic falling asleep in feed and water .so I decided to take the water and feed and let her rest in the dark.If I give fluids at all they immediately come out the other end.She is putting out more than I can put in her.I feel so sad.But At this moment I pray she passes peacefully in her sleep.Thank you 💗

She passed away early this am.Thank you for your kindness.

I'm sorry Tracy :hugs
You did everything you could for her and more than many people would have done.
Thank you it was bizzare.I gave her more fluids went to bed .Got up and checked again at 2 am gave 1 ml fluid.I woke up this morning and her crate wasnt there .I saw it kn the porch and oddly thought my husband may have let her out because possibly was up an about...possibly...Then i had to call him and got the news.I guess I should have known better.I am always positive and felt i would conquer this.To have worked at a vet for 6 years and have this happen was a total devistation.I never thought in a million years I would scream out so loudly in rage and pain when I knew she was gone. This really affected me.I am praying my other 9 stay healthy as they have remained so far.Just had to talk about it .I apologize .I dont have alot of people to talk to this about and I had to let it off my chest.♥️

Please don't heat your coop. They don't need it. For your old girl, put a small pet carrier with straw for bedding in the corner for her. If your girls get used to having heat and there is a power outage, you could loose your flock since they wouldn't be acclimated to the cold. They are well suited naturally for cold because of their down and new feathers after molting in the fall.

Her comb has a blue tint in the morning and goes away by noonish.I treated her for 7 days with amoxiclav .ahe stays near my heater on my porch during the days .Just learning
If she is older, the blue tint could be from heart issues. I don't think you can do anything but give her a great life. I had a big buff Orpington that was like that.
