Is a long narrow a coop ok?

Personally, in my experience, run space and roost space are much more important than actual floor space in a coop when you have mild weather. My chickens only go into the coop to lay eggs and roost and yes I have more in there than "recommended." They are not crowded, nor do they peck one another. I agree that adequate coop space is important for climates where the chickens will actually spend a lot of time in the coop but when they will mostly be outside work with what you have and make them comfortable :)
