Is A Pop Door Necessary?

I should add that I close my girls in at night. They are only in the run part of the day. I let them out for closely supervised free ranging every evening.

ETA: So does the OP, so I think OP and I are in the same boat.
 
As long as there's no risk of the human door slamming shut on a chicken or closing them out of the coop, and as long as there's no issues with the open human door letting in rain/snow/huge drafts etc, there's technically no specific need for a pop door.
