Is a rouen duck a good duck for meat? Is it the biggest duck you can get?

Jumbo pekins are generally raised for meat I think. I'm guessing they're bigger.

I have Rouens and Pekins. The Pekins are definitely larger. I have only slaughtered one Pekin. It was still rather young, but tasty and enough for dinner. Now all the ducks are plump thanks to packing on fat over the winter months. Our Rouen drake is especially large compared to the Rouen ducks. If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely stick to the Rouens. They look more interesting and lay eggs a bit more.

standard rouens are pretty rare and are great meat birds - Or so ive read! i ordered standard rouen hatching eggs at 12$ each, i havent got them yet but they better be worth it!

Edit- Part of the artical seys they grow to 9 or 10 pounds so thats comparable to commercial pekins and just under jumbo pekins
