I have a bird that I'm very fond of. She's a gray EE, and completely silky. She came in my batch of EE's from the feed store, which I believe came from Ideal.
Is a silkied EE something fun? I mean, when it comes time to set some eggs, would you favor hers? She's a good layer of medium green eggs, btw.
I don't intend to try to sell these really, I'm just sort of curious if this is something special or fun that other people might be interested in having. I'll try to get a picture later when J gets home with his camera phone
I'd love some input on how the silkiness gene works. Is it dom/recessive/incomplete dom, etc? The males are production leghorns, should I see any silkied chicks in the F1 generation?
