Is an Egg lighter when it has stopped growing?

I had an egg explode once with no signs of being rotten...but it was oddly pointy. So, I figure it exploded from just being weird. No bad smell, yolk looked fine (but also no embryonic growth). It was a MESS. I heard a big POP, saw nothing, then my 7 yer old son was looking thru the windows and said "one of your eggs is cracked and leaking."


So, when you candle the broken egg are you seeing veins?

I think I can see a vein but not sure.
