I got a very suspicious email from someone claiming to be from this forum advertising sales.
It screams scam. How was someone able to access the email address I registered with?

Somehow, this sounds familiar.

Yes, the scammer was pretending to be me, but I have no idea how they would have gotten an email from here.

It never hurts to change your passwords often and never repeat passwords across other log in sites. Lots of us use the 2 step log in here on BYC to help prevent hackers getting into your accounts.
