Among theologians and biblical scholars there is a contention that the term was mistranslated and was actually 616. There are also a large number who believe that the number was simply a code for Emporer Nero. worship of the emporer was common and in some areas required and it did not sit well with christians of the time.

Its not the number that is bad or evil, any more than its a snake thats bad or evil. They both have their place and purpose.

Biblically its the number of man, probably referring to the antichrist.

I do find it disturbing for reasons unknown though myself...

I sometimes wonder about here, and maybe this is a SIGN!!!!
(actually the nurse weighted her twice just to make sure, cuz she didn't want to put that weight onto Emma's chart...lol
