Funny you should say that... I'm going to pick up a Cuckoo Maran Rooster today. I promised him I wouldn't hatch any chicks till Spring though. I've got some EE's that lay a lighter green egg that I want to breed him with as well as two female Cuckoo Marans.​

Yep I am in desperate need of BYC Anonymous and Chickens Anonymous! I was CERTAIN I would only have 2 hens, only had coop space for max of 2 hens. Now? Now I have 5 ranging in age from twelve weeks to twenty two weeks, I also have 2 coops. Yep. I want more haha. I need about 5 acres of land and about 2 or 3 good sized coops LOL!

It's an addiction! I am not getting anything done! The chicken coop is cleaner than my house! (<--- not really...) I am either reading these posts trying to learn as much as I can or I am out in the yard with the chickens.

Last August I had 4 chickens, this August I have 30 + 15 in the brooder and more in the bator!!! YIKES!

When me and bf first decided to get chicks, I wanted to order 25 from a hatchery, he wanted like 5 from the feed store. After waiting and waiting, I finally found the breed I wanted and got 11 of them, then a roo, then 2 more, then two more....


2 days ago bf said "DON'T BRING HOME ANY MORE ANIMALS".


Then I brought home ANOTHER rabbit, and 2 more chickens...

They don't stay mad long...

I haven't told him about the prospect of a BLRW flock yet, although he see's me building stuff in the yard, so he probably can already guess what it's for.
