No, you can use pencils for the sketches, but the final picture should be ink -- you ink over the pencil sketch and then erase the pencil marks after it dries.

I wanted to do something with more of a focus on facets, but I got really tight on time today (as indicated by the fact that it is currently 22:56 here), sorry.
The character is Ribbon from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
The shading is real wonky, I know.
Anyway, day 1 down.
