Thanks!
It was very easy, just had to compete in two khanacrosses, and get a form signed off my the clerk of course, and then send them in, and (surprisingly!) MA processed it within half a day.
they want your membership fees, they'll move fast for that money :)

We have been flat out in my rally car build.
Things that needing doing this week, make seat mounts, get the windscreen put in, put in another harness bar as the first one was in the wrong spot, mount harnesses, change the radiator, put back side windows in, and more things that I can't think of, off the top of my head.
Then pre-logbook scrutiny around the weekend, and first event on the next weekend.
I don't really know why we are always in such a hurry. 🤷‍♀️ other people take a year and a half, and we do it in 6 or 7 weeks.

Back home now, after last weekend, and it was so much fun!
The car didn't really have any issues, and the handling was set up pretty good too! We finished 26 out of 29 finishers; 49 cars started, so just finishing was an achievement in itself. I would have liked to have gone a bit faster, but there were some pretty rough bits in there, and I didn't want to risk breaking something on its first run; and for this event it was all about having a good time and running the car in.
I had a blast driving for the first time!

In car video of stage 4 :)
My favorite stage, and also the one I got my best time on. I was in 'car conservation mode' mode, rather then flat out, as I just wanted to finish; or at least that was the plan! I may have got a little carried away once or twice.
Slight oopsy on the end, though the flying finish  (I wanted to impress the official on the right...)
I had soo much fun!!

Fun! I watched the vid. What mechanical changes are you allowed in your class? You need shorter 1/2 gears in that bad boy. It's struggling to get up into the power band in first and second.

Is that front or rear wheel drive?

Thanks for watching!
A close ratio gearbox is on my wish list, but slightly out of my budged at present. My brother had one in is car, before it broke. Although, part of the issue was me not changing gears enough, something I need to work on. (changing down before the corner, rather then after)
And its front wheel drive; another problem is due to my seating position (quite far forward, as I don't have the longest legs) I can't reach the hand brake to get more turn in on tighter corners. A hydraulic handbrake is in the pipe work... : )

FWD makes it a bit harder to mess with gears. If it was RWD you could change the center section and help it a bit less invasively than having to swap a gearbox. C'est la vie, I suppose. :) A hydro brake will definitely make it easier into the hard corners, no doubt.
And yes, 100% Downshift before you enter your turn, let the momentum and grip carry you through and keep your engine in the power band. Smooth is fast. The more you do it the easier it'll get!

I don't know anything about RWD to be honest, so can't comment there. With brothers old box, he got it taken apart, and changed the final drive ratio, and got a diff put in at the same time.
My car came with a diff, (previous owner put it in) but not the changed ratio, so its not really worth taking it all apart just for that. I'm not planning on become the next rally champion or anything after all, just after some fun. ;)

Yup! I really need to keep the revs up, as I don't have all that much low down power. Also, something we have been taught is left foot braking, so one can keep the power on throughout the corner, and change speed/oversteer/understeer with the brake at the same time.
The amount of control one feels is just awesome...when it goes well!
