Hello all! I am new to the forum. My fiance' is moving in with me once we get married in September of this year,but she has 5 egg laying chickens that she cannot bring with her due to restrictions where I live. We want them to go to a loving home. I know it may sound funny to some to talk this way but she really has loved and cared for them like pets. If you live in Joliet / New Lenox area drop me an email. She is not sure exactly what kind of chickens they are, but they look like ‘Rhode Island Red’s’ and are roughly 6 pounds each. Of the 4 chickens ( I was mistaken in saying there were 5), the productivity is 2-3 eggs per day. Their temperament is very friendly and occasionally mistake buttons or a mole on your leg, as a bug, and will peck it, lol. I understand that is quite normal. She also has a small mallard duck that thinks one of the chickens is his girlfriend and follows her everywhere. They are all quite entertaining.

Three are age 3, one is a 1 year old. The mallard needs a home as well if you are interest.

I live in New Lenox, I have 5 girls myself, I know hat you talking about. I am going to hearing end of the month fight for those girls, otherwise, I will have to get rid of them. If you know somebody who live in Villige in New Lenox and wants to change our ordinance to keep backyard chickens,let me now !!! I would real appreciate it.

I no longer know anyone who lives in New Lenox : ( That is where my husband and I grew up,however, and I know a lot of the folks who live there have come quite pompous depending in there you live there. We are so rooting for you, though!! What kind of chickens do you have?
