Got up this morning and 2 were all the way out. At about 10AM I now have 100% all 8 out of the shell and looking up at me!
PEEP-PEEP-PEEP
I stayed up until 2AM watching for more hatches and they all waited till this morning..
Here is the new link to all 8 bouncing baby Rhode Island Reds!! (unless the black sex link hens got fertilized by the RIR Roo then I don't know what I will have!)

I'm so impressed. You got 100%. You must be so excited. Didn't you make your own incubator or am I confusing you with some one else. Either way that is great!
Wow... what a busy couple of days! My first egg hatched Wednesday night; we are at 17 right now with five still in the bator - showing no action at this point. I'm not giving up since this has stretched out over two days already.
All has gone well EXCEPT for two chicks which zipped about 2/3 of the way - then stopped. They sat like this for over a day; cheeping but making no progress. Yesterday I very gently assisted the first one - her let was out and was just shaking uncontrollably; I figured she wasn't doing well so I could only do so much harm. She came out dry and pretty pathetic looking - and I almost culled her this AM. However, by this afternoon she looked almost 100% normal. I had already dipped her beak in water a few times and she is now with the other big guys in the brooder. A bit behind, but pecking, moving, drinking, etc...
The second guy is MUCH dryer. He is out but is DRY. I dipped his beak in water twice and have him in the brooder but in a separate/clear container so he can see/hear the others but is safe (has a towel and is staying warm). Any ideas??? Should I just dip his beak in water every so often and let nature do her thing, or should I try to moisten him in any way?
Pictures soon! The ones in the brooder are sooo cute - as you all know! Some are curious, some are timid, some loud and some quiet - just like all of us except so cute to see in these little fluff balls!
