Ouch...That shocks me--how about--ooh maybe Im too late. how about next time you order eggs-have the seller put a pencil mark on all their eggs they send-so if it doesn't work-you can take photos of those eggs ( broken open) so she can see their signitures and know you are not trying to just get free eggs-Im not saying you are..Im just a picture person and a landlord-I take so many before and after they leave saves ours butts everytime!!

well.. out of 22 I had 13 hatch.. the rest of them gave out early on, except for one that wasnt fertile and out of the 13 only 9 of them have lived.. *sigh* I was hoping for better results

I believe mine is all done too.. we are holdingout for the 1 egg which we believe is a duck egg-so the bator will run A few more days-there is 10 silie eggs left in there that Im puling tonight...6 healthy silkies-3 not so much. 15 other heathy babies 2 not so much-Im nursing them to see where it goes but....

I have a very baby duck!!! IM soooooo excited!!!! We were told that in the batch of eggs we got from the PETPAW would not have a duck egg because unfortunately on strike from laying? Either way I was shutting the bator down because today was day 26-I picked up that big light blue egg and it pipped I candeled it and it was just a moving! I quickly put it back in and it pipped 5 minutes later-a few cracks-I upped the humidity cause it was down to 60% now it's at 75% and I can see it's bill! a duck! well I'll be. Originaly the DH and I said no way to ducks but this is a great surprise and we can't wait until it comes out to play with it and let it swim in the sinks and such ahhhhhhhhhhhh....

It's a duck!!! My bator was stinking up to high heaven and I knew something went bleah-I pulled the last 10 silkie eggs out cause today is 26..ahhhh read the next post!!!

Congrats on your duck. I may have to try some ducks next time. We bought 5 baby pekins, but they are big and clumsy and my sisters black lab chases them when they are out. We tried to put them on the pond over the weekend and I don't think it will work. I guess we may have to get rid of them. They are so cute so I feel very sad.

awww..I'm sorry-We have a pond we live on and I hope My dogs don't scare it! I 'm scared to get really attached because what if it flys away for the winter with the other mallards that season with us?

I have a pip hole in one of my eggs! This is the first time we have hatched eggs in years and it's pretty exciting. I put them in the incubator on the 1st and this morning after the kids went to school, I turned them and there was a hole pipped in one of the americauna eggs and I could hear peeping!. I have 42 eggs in so we will see what hatches. I candled and saw live embryos in most of them over the last few weeks and I can hear tapping now in many of them. The kids will be excited when they get home!

That is great. We had some Americaunas also. We only had 19 eggs and it seemed like it started slow and then eggs were hatching all over. I can't imagine having 40. It should be a fun couple of days for you!
