I have been told I am the "Coupon Queen" I enjoy saving more than I spend, hunting down deals, and just getting loads of stuff FREE. Anyone here as frugal as I am? We could swap deals and tips...

I would love to be a "couponer" but have never really gotten into it. We don't have the paper delivered, so I'm not really sure where to get coupons. Any good tips for a newbie?

The best way to start is by getting the paper... Go to different websites and get on their mailing lists! Also, there are SO many coupons you can print right online! I see you're pregnant. I hope you've signed up at Enfamil, Similac, Gerber, Beech Nut, Pampers, Huggies.... If not, do it! They'll all send you monthly coupons!

Seems like the only coupons I ever see are for processed foods and junk foods that I won't let my family eat but it's been a long time since I"ve checked out the couponing world. Have things changed? Do they have coupons for just staples?

I agree, whenever I flip thru the coupons in the paper, they're all for stuff I don't buy! And I usually buy generic, so even when I do see a coupon it would still cost more then buying the generic brand.

But I do use coupons for things like coffee, pectin for making jam, and if I see a good one for chocolate I'll sometimes splurge and buy it.

That makes three of us. I'm not going to feed my family junk just because I can buy it for 10 cents per box with coupons. I look occasionally to see if there's anything good for the staples... never is. It's disappointing, but then ... it's the world we live in. Unfortunately, I imagine if the coupons weren't for that stuff there would be a whole lot more people complaining.

ETA: I am however all for saving money where I can. I watch sales and stock up when they put something we actually buy on sale.

Since I eat so much fresh produce, whole dairy, and meat, coupons are pretty useless to me.

I may occasionally find a good one for a cleaning product, but usually if it has a coupon, it is highly processed and pretty much toxic in my book.

Our local library has a container for coupons. The staff cut them from the papers and sort them into categories, and patrons are free to add/take what they please.

That's fantastic!! I really don't have time to sit down and cut out coupons, so that would be wonderful for me!
