Blue Mottled is not a recognized variety in either the ABA or APA Standards. Mottled is recognized in Bantams only. Qualifying meets would need to be held in order to have them recognized. There is a detailed list of requirements in order to hold a qualifying meet, such as minimum number of exhibitors, minimum number of birds in the class during qualifying meet, signed affidavits that the variety breeds true etc.

However, you can still show them. The limitation is that they can go no farther than Best of Variety because they are not a recognized variety and therefore can not compete for Best of Breed awards.

Hope this helps.

Tom
