is bone meal a good supplement for chickens?

I recently bought some bone meal and it's labeled for chickens and chicks. I have just used it today. I sprinkle a bit on their mash I make for them. my question is that is this good for them? will it benefit my chickens? please answer. thanks

If you are feeding a balanced ration I don't think I'd feed bone meal on top of it. Minerals need to be absorbed in certain ratios relative to other minerals (i.e. calcium/phosphorus/magnesium). Sprinkling bone meal on top is going to alter that ratio. If you are using a good feed those minerals are already in their proper ratios.
