Is bread alright to give as a treat?

all my animals love bread I buy it at our local breadstore 10 trays for 4 dollars. Its usually 2 or 3 days from being out of date. Me and my MIL half it so that it doesnt get molded and waste. I give it to my chickens and ducks (not my rabbits because Im afraid it will stick to their teeth) and dogs. Our neighbor moved away and left thier dogs, so I feed the majority of it to them.

My chick loves my homemade bread but mostly she loves cooked carrots. Has anyone else had a carrot-scarfing chickie?

I feed mine anything expect potato peelings,they go to the goats. since I have very little leftovers, my DD usually saves her bread for them to,I stopped by the day old bread place and asked about their old bread, and the woman told me that the drivers usually just threw it in the stores dumpsters, since it took up room in their truck,

id just like to say im glad to hear bread is ok!! it is my chicks favorite treat, its the one thing i was able to bribe them into likeing me with!!!!

well , went outside to give more water , carried 6 slices of bread , and GUESS WHAT ? 1 hen seen: the bread coming , and she seemed to get so excited , SHE LAID AN EGG . LOL

LOL, that a god one!! mine are not old enough to show thier aprecation like that! my dd was giving out some bread yesterday and thought shed hide it behind her back,well you have never seen a 9 year old girl jump and scream when a chicken sneaks up behind her to snag some bread!! i almost peed myself laughing at her!!

I started giving bread at 3 weeks, the chicks loved it. They are 6 weeks now and snatch pretty much anything from my hand. They decimated a leftover corn on the cob that dropped off the barbeque!!

Just thought I would ask, doesn't the yeast in the bread cause problems. At the parks around here, they won't let you give the ducks bread because of the yeast. Any thoughts about that??????
