Hey yall! This egg was laid today and when I got it it had this little crack/hole in it. What I’m wondering is it safe to eat? The skin is not broken... I can turn it upside down and nothing comes out. I would eat it tomorrow morning. ?? Thanks yall!

not to sure about that so I toss them , but your hens might need more protein or you got a predator trying to get your eggs

No predator... but this gal always lays pretty soft eggs even though I have oyster shells for them:idunno.... thank you!
then she's not getting enough protein that's why she's pecking eggs, if thats the ccase may look into vitamin supplements for your water cause something is off

I really don’t think that she is pecking it... it was barely cracked and I picked at it to see if the skin was still closed. It isn’t always cracked but her eggs are softer than my other eggs for sure... she is my Wyandotte and only lays about one egg a week...?? They all just started laying this summer....

I guess I wouldn’t toss it.... i’d cook it up real well and feed it back to the girls.
