The other thing that sometimes happens is if you try and give advice on a thread and it is ignored then someone says exactly the same thing several posts later and it's like the best advice ever. Sometimes it puts me off trying to help. Am I being paranoid or am I seeing something that's not there?

Nah, it really happens. Cliques or something? Who knows, but I guess I have come to a conclusion:

Old Mister Montgomery was my run away from person. He had the best apples and we used to try and sneak them all the time. He’d chase us off but he would never try and catch us. Come to think about it, I think he liked it.

Sounds like Peter Rabbit and Mr. McGregor! Maybe he was lonely and you kids were the only company he ever had.
